Branford

It's hard to believe that we are nearing the end, but with only one week of spring playoffs remaining in this IM year, it's time to stop and thank some of the faithful who have made this year far and away the best in the past four for BFA. While we do thank Mike May '98 and others who came before us to show us how it's done, it would be hard to argue that the Class of '99 has not been the heart of the Branford IM effort since its arrival in September 1995; all across the board, this year's seniors have set the standard for continued excellence in the years to come.

To the core of true playas, especially, thanks for stickin' with it through the first three years of tough luck. Thanks to love-struck secs Meredith Trowbridge '99 and Patrick Bareiss '99, the Big Poppas of BFA IMs; Mike Smith '99, master poloite and runner-up in the most-games-played-senior-year contest; Loren Stewart '99, the mack of IM volleyball; Drew Foster '99 and John Adams '99, soulmates and captains of two years of B-hoops glory; Tom Palkot '99 and Katie Armstrong '99, frisbee-tossing wonders prone to the long bomb; Mihira Jayase-kera '99, all-too infrequently on the fields, but downright dominant when he appeared.

But, with the moving on of the Class of '99 to bigger things, so too does Daddy BFA see a healthy group of underclassmen coming of age. Hope springs eternal in the continuing dedication and energy of juniors Anil Kalia, Caron Kim, and Martha Bagnall; sophomores Dan Brodhead, Shannon Dunlap, Regina Fitzpatrick, Joanna Manders, Randy Wolfe, and Aaron Zamost; and ebullient frosh Justin Vaughn, Anne "Viva" Pawsat, Erik Calloway, Ian Anderson, and Adam Frank. Don't stop playing, don't stop winning, don't stop being bigger than the rest. Y'all are the flesh and the blood; keep the spirit of BFA alive in 2000.
