Morse

Morse Master Stanton Wheeler recently set the tone for his college's performance on the athletic fields when he proclaimed that Morse should "Win one for the Lipper!" Wheeler was, of course, enjoining his college to find in-spiration in Morse's great symbol of power, the Lipstick.

Many Morsels seem to have done just that. The men's soccer team pulled off the biggest upset of this infant season when it defeated Trumbull, a team that had not lost in two years. The team found needed offensive fire in Tiberio Frisoli '02, who scored both goals en route to a 2-1 victory. Colin Pan '01, Kyle McEneaney '02, and Socrates Kakoulides '01 also aided the effort.

Coed football started off the season with an impressive 26-25 win over Trumbull. The team was down by six with just two plays remaining when a ball deflected off of Ryan Barrows '01 to Eileen Gibson '00, who made a miraculous catch on the one-yard line. Her catch set up Barrow's touchdown on the final play.

The golf team had nowhere to go but up after last year's abysmal showing, and they did just that in their first contest. Master Wheeler, Jonathan Thessin '00, Warner Off '02, and Sam Warshauer '02 combined for a one-over-par finish on the day. Women's soccer sufferd a tough loss to the Branford/JE team—we'll blame the Stilesians for that one. But with two big victories, Morsels have definitely paid the Lipper its due homage.
