Pierson

Piersonites are on a mission this fall, dedicating their hearts, their bodies, indeed their very souls, to recapturing Pierson's IM pride of old. Juan "No Que Tu" Ozuana '00 says it all: "Sure, I have a steel rod in my leg, but if you need me, I'm there!"

Pierson opened the season strong at the Bordosi Golf Invitational. Jonas "Chipper" Heymann '02 and Manish "Manly Man" Vora '02 led the squad to match last year's winning score.

In football, Pierson not only remains alive but already boasts a win against Silliman's coed team. Pierson's own mascot, cheerleading captain, and Greek God, Andy "Deez Nuts" Borbelly '00, seeks to set the team en fuego at future contests.

Men's soccer showed promise in posting a draw in their opening game against a tough Silliman team. Tim "I'm in" Lovelock '01 seeks to construct a killer team—as well as a couple bookshelves—in an attempt to shut down the competition.

Coed volleyball has already put in a shirt order. Seasoned veterans Steve "Shafer" '01, Daniela "I Go" Ricciardi '01, and Thomas "Da Thunder" Lo '00 punished former champion Calhoun in straight games. Pete Sung '99 was seen watching the match from the soccer fields through binoculars and giggling boyishly.

Excitement around Pierson College has never been so high. When asked how to improve our teams, one Piersonite replied, "Hellish chanting around a huge bonfire in the courtyard. Yeah, and games of kill the man with the ball, but for real." Personally, I'm just glad to see some enthusiasm.
