Branford

Well, Yale, after a slow start, it appears that the gray-shirted diehards of Branford volleyball have finally found the winning formula. The good guys stumbled in their first two matches, despite the intense play of Natty "Lite" Hodes '00 and the seemingly endless supply of frosh named Stephanie. But the BFA contingent, led by the diminutive duo of Erin McGrath '01 and Dave Moss '01, rolled past Calhoun, whom Justin Vaughn '02 cleverly distracted by describing his Exotic Erotic attire (yikes). Ping-pong also rebounded from a loss and tied Pierson, getting big contributions from Ross"tafarian" Anderson '03 and Sae Young "MC" Kim '00, who has been known to bust a move on a ping-pong table.

Branford footballers also kicked a few teams around. "Toni" Tony "Tone" Men-doza '03 has been key in men's soccer. While the women, pushed by Meredith Bryarly '01 and Jocelyn Simon-"Says you lose"-son '01, racked up a couple of victories and ignored women's World Cup precedent by keeping their shirts on. Hey, there'll be a lot of future victories to celebrate.

The debut of the coed tennis squad and captain Adam "Blame it on the" Rein '03 was postponed by last week's soggy weather. Future foes should pray for more hurricanes. Football came up big thanks to dominating performances from Dan Balzora '01 and Robert Quandt"anamo Bay" '02. The coed team cruised to a shutout victory, thanks to the monster play of Anne Pawsat '02 and a big ol' can of Adam "Beans and" Frank '02. Sorry folks, but the Swingers are just getting warmed up, and no scrub opponents should plan on getting any love from us.
