Timothy Dwight

The rain tumbles down onto the broad shoulders of the soldiers of the red army. Long has the deluge kept the lion warriors off the fields of contention. Even in clear skies, the crimson horde often finds itself alone on the battle site, aching for combat, but with none to be found. But they are battle-hardened veterans, so this hateful inaction cannot pull their hearts and minds off their mission. Instead the numbers under the lion banner continue to grow and morale remains high. Inevitably, their crushing momentum will carry them through the lull, into the pitch of battle yet again. Woe to those who stand in their way.

Tennis's first battle was a difficult one. Hayden "Smell my balls" Gallary '02, Eva "Penny" Lane '02, Matt "UTAH!" Garrett '02, Nnamdi "Okeely Dokeely" Okeke '02, and Mary "Hansel and" Gren-del '01 fought valiantly but failed to bring home the bacon.

A spank-you to captains Peter "Froth" Chin '01 and Andrea "Beef Stick" Stewart '02 for providing leadership and motivation in volleyball's rebuilding season. Look for a strong start and revitalized teams come winter.

Hurricane Floyd has nothing on TD's hurri-Kanes. With strong performances from Brian Kane '01, Thomas Kane '01, and Jon Cain '03, TD men's soccer blew the competition away. While captain Wiley "Wiley" Kestner '02 went on the DL, Greg "Fembot" Tigani '00 made a strong return.

Props to everyone who has been coming out, especially Gates "Lady killer" Hurand '00 and Merrill Dobson"'s Creek" '00 for their enthusiasm and hard work. The Cup is within reach. Ashé.

(Compiled by the two better-looking and more talented TD IM secretaries)
