Silliman

In Silliman's slow and steady climb back to its natural perch at the Tyng's top, there is, fortunately, one unstoppable force of nature too impatient to wait behind our walls any longer. The force is too talented to be put down, even by evil, lawn-mowing, allergy-inducing conspiracies, and just plain too ready to kick even more ass. This beast is the Silliman cross country team.

Fielding full teams for the first time in recent history, Captains Johnny "Comes Marching Home" Scafidi '01 and Justin "Smooth as Silli"Cohen '02 anchored an absolute demolition of the field. Sillimanders took first in both men's and women's races, and 11 of our 13 runners finished in the top 20. Props to first-place finishers Greg "After floor exercise comes" Distelhorst '03 and Mairin "Putting off that paper on Edmund" Burke '03. Also running were Tom "Weirder than Eli" Whit-ney '02, James "and the Giant Peach" Rosenblum '02, Jonathan "Doctor" Katz '03, Saad "But Happy Inside" Khanani '02, Lauren Keane "on risking life and limb" '03, Shannon "Club Soccer's Master" Baker-Branstetter '01, Yael "Noble-Nosed" Zeira '03, Keally "Arrived at" Dewitt " 's end" '03, and Sarah "Speed's My Middle Name" Vollbracht '02.

Both squads are a combined 9-1 going into next week's finals. As for the other colleges, it doesn't matter how the other colleges finished! Do you smell what this block is cookin'? It involves you—the other 11 colleges—as the little kids, and us—the Sillimanders—as the bus drivers. Sit back and watch us take all you suckers to school. I would tell you about our other keister-kicking sports, but your collective rear ends seem to be hurting enough as it is. Have a Band-Aid, courtesy of the best residential college at Yale.
