Saybrook

The 'Brook just keeps winning. With only a week left in the regular season, we are primed to advance into the winter in first.

Coming up huge in the first cross country race, Captain "Flyin'" Brian Vinci '02, Kyle "The Animal" Gardner '00, Rob "Lance Armstrong" Twomey '01, Peter Friedman "as a bird" '00, and Charlie "Sweet" Enloe '03, led the men's team to finish second. The women, led by Meredith "Leather, chains, and a" Whipple '03, "Smiley" Reilly Dibner '02, Abby "Tim the Toolman" Taylor '01, and others finished a solid third.

Contributing big time to our success this season, our men's football team finished at 7-4. Leading the team were captain Josh "I'll" Zaharoff "and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down" '02, Man FingerDan '00, "The Animal," Dan "Charleston" Chu '02, Kevin "A three hour tour!" McGill "igan" '02, John "Smokin'" Mochan '03, and Mike "Vanna" Wighton '03.

As for our coed team, it can wrap up the championship with a win Friday. Key women on this stellar squad are: Dibner, "Cornelius B" Annette Saunooke '03, Michelle Chin "Music" '03, Natasha "It's only broken in six places; I can play" Bloom '00, and captain Alice "Smooth as butter" Liu '00. Vinci "I would walk 500" Miles Haladay '02, "Irrational" Jon Ells '00, and Dave Plattner "form shoes" '01 also contributed greatly.

Speaking of championships, ping-pong is tied with Morse for the lead. Looking to the championship match, all we can say is that we plan to "violate" them by handing them their butts for the second time this season. Keep up the awesome work, Abaluck and Company.

Tennis finished in first at 6-1, storming into the semis next week. Leading the charge are Plattner, Louise Davis "Cup" '03, Chantol "Hits from the" Nong '03, Rebecca Swann "Lake" '03, Katie "The Great Pump" Kin-zler '03, and Chin, along with Stosh "Pepper" Mintek '03, Dominic "Ahora voy a" Matar"te" '01, Gardner, and Enloe.

Finally, on the pitch Captains Ells and Dylan Fuge"itive" '02 and Omar "Mexican Folk Dancing" Mendoza '03 led a late-season romp. The women's side fought off the flu, midterms, and "forfeit season," a phenomenon frequent in their sport, to finish a respectable .500. Captains Azure "am playing" Wells '01, Katie "Mondays only" McGuinn '00, and everyone who came out, we applaud you.
