Morse

Sometimes you have to wish that Deism were plausible and that the IM god would just leave you alone. But since he won't, for now, Morsels will be seeing lots of rockin' nicknames in this recap.

Where shall we begin? Men's soccer refuses to lose. They easily captured the title. Captain Jonathan "Drinking at Mory's builds church community" Thessin '00 anchored the team's solid defense throughout the year. Tiberio "Brewers are worthless" Frisoli '02 kept scoring goals, as did "Non-fab" Ian MacAllister '00, who definitely didn't shy away from battle on the field. Dara "I love my showers" Mac Caba '02 and Harold "Watchama" Collet '01 also energized the offensive effort.

Coed table tennis secured title number two for Morse this autumn. They were led by Yves "Indian girls dig me" Dharamraj '02, Shivan Mehta "Steel" '01, and Jasper "Pyongyang, North" Kuria '01 on the men's side, and Priscilla "Sing me a" Song '00 for the women. Coed tennis made known their effort to recapture the title on Mon., Oct. 25, beating a previously undefeated Stiles team, 4-3. The key win of the day was Andre "New York State Champion" Mistier's '00 marathon victory. To the finals they went. Part of the team's success must be attributed to the return of Amy "Vio" Lin '01, who overcame a season-long injury and was finally able to play. And we can't neglect to mention other key contributors such as Amy "Championship!" Chang '00, Sara "Is there any sport she can't play?" Perkins '01, and Roger "Town Car" Austin '03.

After a huge peformance to get into the championship meet, "Conversion" Van Nguyen '03 and Pete "The Unknown Morsel" Lokken '00 led their team to respectable showings in the finals. Coed football ended the season on a very high note, finishing 9-2, their best record of the decade, thanks to a noteworthy performance by Kendall "What kind of tailgate doesn't have bratwurst?" Enyard '01. Mike "Flash" Gordon '00, Eileen "Immaculate Reception" Gibson '00, and Dan "The IM Insomniac" Wilderman '00 have decided to retire from the team after this year. Morse thanks them for their dedication.

Last but not least, women's soccer finished the season at 5-5. Julie "Ted" Simmons '00 proved her loyalty to Morse with her efforts. And so the IM god has gotten his wish. Hopefully, he will return to being a great watchmaker and leave the nitty-gritty to his loyal disciples.
