Harvard-Yale IM Preview

Harvard-Yale IM Preview Men's soccer: The Morse-Cabot championship soccer game will pit two great sophomore goal scorers against two stingy defenses. The Morse defense, led by senior co-captain Jonathan Thessin '00, allowed just 0.5 goals per game this season. It will try to contain an explosive Cabot offense, which found the back of the net an average of 3.3 times a game this fall. The Cabot charge should be led by Stephen Hackbarth '02, who scored eight goals in just three playoff games.

On the other end of the field, Morse boasts its own sophomore scoring sensation, Yale IM soccer MVP Tiberio Frisoli. Frisoli was unstoppable during the regular season, scoring 13 goals in 10 games. Ian MacAllister, '00, who scored six goals on the year, will be joining Frisoli up front. Cabot will try to shut down the Morse attack with its relentless defense, anchored by Daniel Hegg '00, an exceptional player both on the ground and in the air. Cabot will also send speedy Nick Lau '02, another member of its vaunted sophomore class and a motivational presence on the field. He will do battle with Morse's midfield trio of co-captain Colin Pan '01, Socrates Kakoulides '01, and gritty Irishman Dara MacCaba '02.

Men's touch football: Cabot enters its game against Ezra Stiles having outscored its Harvard competition 171-26 en route to an undefeated championship season. Cabot is led on both offense and defense by Captain Roy"Sensation" Litland, who scored the lone touchdown in Harvard's A-league football championship game. Litland is aided by the blazing speed of former Cabot tutor Billy Weitzel, who has been a member of seven Harvard A-league football championship teams this decade. At the heart of the Cabot defense is Adeyemi Delbridge, a menacing presence to any quarterback with his long reach.

Stiles finished the season 11-0 andwill be led by seniors Michael Hargis, Rashan Clark, Tad Yanagi, and Mike Falenki, and juniors Michael Gerber and Grant Chavin.
