Berkeley

This first week of intra-murals saw the Thunder Chicken flap its feathered wings both on the golf course and out at the fields. On the links, we finished a misleading fifth, merely one stroke behind four other teams. The two Berkeley teams, each comprised of four players, impressed with an average final score of -1. Reportedly Ben "Tiger Woods" Litman '02's pre-game putting and chipping on Cross Campus contributed to BK's success. Mrs. Stout was also swinging well...the question is whether she can throw a football?

Coed touch football lost a not-so-tight one against Branford (0-42 the reported final score), but only because the top male talent was busy whooping the Branford "men" in a decisive 16-7 match. Essentially a shutout for BK, since Branford earned its seven by arranging for the bus from Payne Whitney to fill up before any BK players could get on. Team captain James "Manly CA" Herron '03 had a key interception and credited other players with "key catches," Ricky with an "awesome blitzing attack," Thad Novak '02 and Naved "More Durable Than Trojan" Sheikh '03 with tough receiver coverage. In the football that's actually played with feet, Berkeley suffered a 6-1 loss to a deeply talented Branford squad. Jermaine McPherson '03 netted our only goal. On the upside, there were some new faces, and a second half that improved upon a sluggish first. We had great numbers for all sports, keep it up!
