Silliman

Through rain and pain, the monster lumbers on. God-Silla has had an up-and-down week, but the good has definitely out- weighed the bad. And, of course, that success is due in large part to this year's new batch of Sillimanders: they are lean, they are mean, and they are out in force. Like any true heavyweight, the monster went undefeated in the rougher realms. Men's and coed football both went a spectacular 2-0. The men's team was led by the fierce play of Darius "no pain, no gain" Fewlass '01 who dislocated his shoulder in an intense mid-week game. The coed team was led by a ravenous pack of frosh, all of whom had the moves and killer instincts of O.J. Simpson himself. On Monday, the Sillifrosh alone outnumbered the entire Morse team by a ratio of about 3-1. Special note goes to Chaim "Boom-boom" Bloom '04 and "Killa" Kira Goldman '04. Men's soccer suffered a pair of hard-fought losses but sported a great turnout. The troops were led with the help of Rory-Owen "I want my last name to be Smith" Delaney '03 and Jesse "Chops" Olsen '01. Ping pong proved once again that claws just are not that great for holding a paddle, as Captain Saad "I'll run through the rain to smack you up" Khanani '02 fought valiantly, but had a frosh lose in the last set to Stiles, and then came back to tie Morse the next night. Through wins and losses, however, shines the proof that no other college is safe. The Sillifrosh are looking scary and they are out there in force. The new generation has emerged. Other colleges, beware...
