New York smarties


Columbia women's basketball the only Ivy team in "Smart 25"

The Women's Basketball Coa-ches Association has come out with its Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, a ranking of the "smartest" teams in women's college basketball. Columbia, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.350, finished sixth in the country and was the only Ivy team to crack the top 25.

Harvard women's soccer beats Penn for eighth consecutive Ivy win

On Sat., Sept. 16, the Cantabs (2-1, 1-0 Ivy) kicked off their Ivy season with an impressive 2-1 victory at Pennsylvania (2-2, 0-1 Ivy). After falling behind 1-0, Joey Yenne '03 scored the equalizer in the 58th minute, and less than a minute later, Meredith Stewart '01 scored off a rebound to put Harvard up for good. The win extends Harvard's Ivy win streak from last season to eight.
