Jonathan Edwards

First, Ralph Nader got shut out of the presidential debates. And then there weren't any Eli breakfast sandwiches left at 12:15 at brunch on Saturday. The tan M&M got the ax a long time ago, and then, most recently, JE got a letter from the IM President addressed, "Jonathan Edwards Volleyball Team, Tournament Non-Competitor." It's been a rough couple of weeks for IMs here at 68 High St. So what if taking "J Hand Swan Toad" out of "Pythagorean Jonathan Edwards" can spell "Green Party?" JE had a third place record, the ticket to getting into the Big Dance, and yet someone still found a way to block them from the door. Funny how the people who run the IM student office are from the colleges that regularly win the Tyng Cup (cough cough Morse and Saybrook cough sniffle cough). But have no fear, Melissa "Pat" Buchanan '02 and her crew will split up and try again in the next (election) season. So far, the crown jewels of the JE IM fall season have been men's soccer and cross country, both of which remain undefeated. Soccer has been lead by the skills and smarts of dedicated coach Pietro Canetta '01 and the flawless execution can be attributed to David Weinert '03, Brian Bergstrom '03, Austen Moore '03, Brenden McEneaney '02, Nik Cullman '04, Sam Asher '04, and about 20 other JE gentlemen. Their 7-0-1 record has them already eyeballing the championship match and, in regular season play, an equally successful Morse squad. Oh, and any intramural-savvy reader will know why cross country remains undefeated. Heh, heh, heh.

(Compiled by a desperate secretary.)
