Ivy League rakes in NCAA "sports sponsorship" funds.

Seven Ivy League schools placed among the top 10 Division I schools— and all eight made the top 20—in the NCAA's most recent "sport sponsorship" report.

The report was commissioned to assess the number of opportunities for male and female athletes in the 32 Division I conferences. This year's report shows that the average Ivy school sponsors a nation's best 30 "NCAA" sports (the NCAA does not govern a number of college sports, including sailing, men's rowing and squash). Throw those in, and the total number of sports sponsored at the typical Ivy school is closer to 35).

On the strength of last year's report, Ivy League schools received a total of more than $1.9 million from the NCAA—the mean of $240,000 per school is the highest figure among all Division I conferences—and the league can expect to benefit even more this year. —Compiled by Anna Dolinsky
