Saybrook

You don't need to recount this exit poll: Saybrook will be in first place come the (real) new millenium. Oh yeah. Is there any more coveted position in all of sports? We'll take tops in the Tyng race any day. Some of our teams are on pace for incredible 10-1 seasons. A-hoops, B-hoops, women's hoops, and men's and women's volleyball all cleverly got that one pesky loss out of the way early on, so that they could enjoy the ensuing nine or 10-game winning streak. And you say Saybrook's a bunch of dumb jocks! Even ice hockey, led by Captain Meredith "Crack the" Whipple '03, pseudo-Captain Dylan "You want big? I'm" Fuge '01, and newly anointed Charlie "I shave with an electric" Resor '04, is on pace to go approximately 7-3-1. We had a huge squad come out on Monday night against Branford, and while they may have outscored us during the game, we definitely out-gulped them during the post-game festivities. Other success stories of note: Phoebe "Please serve from the wall" Heffron '04 has been a catalyst on our women's volleyball team, while on the men's side, free agent signee Sasha "I got a three- year contract with guaranteed housing!" Waring '03 will be leading our men to their imminent championship. B-hoops can chalk up their first (and only - remember, 10-1!) loss to the fact that Mike "No sleeves" Reeves '01 actually wore sleeves during the game. Last but not least: our women's hoops squad battled Branford to a hard-fought three-point loss behind the captainship of Alice "stair Cookie" Liu '01, C-hoops is off to a flawless 2-0 start under player-manager Matthew Stewart Chang "Day" '01, and A-hoops welcomes back "Where's" Valdo Banuelos '02. Happy New Year!
