It's a new semester—a fresh start, a chance to make up for the petty cruelties of last semester, new co-editors to smear with dirt. But I'll begin by playing nice: Yale will crush Cornell in swimming ($600); men's basketball will wipe the court with Dartmouth ($500). Tradition will hold: men's squash will defeat Williams ($500). Speaking of tradition, what would a Dolinsky Smack be without a fond nod to Chepiga's exploits (he has time to explore the local high schools now) and Teddy's quality time with Lichtig's mom? Current balance: $5,000.

Now you might assume that an NYC girl would pick New York teams because of intense pride about everything related to New York. But I've gotta go with the Vikings. Granted, the Giants have home field advantage, but how many positive vibes can New Jersey ever truly supply? Speedy Randy Moss is going to help me win money ($500). As for the AFC, I'm placing my Irish luck with the West Side; Raiders will be on top ($300). I regret that I will not be around to watch men's hockey crush Harvard ($400). And a big thanks to my boys, you know who you are. Current balance: $5,000.

Wiecks

Being a Colorado girl, I am sorely disappointed by the Broncos failure to make it past the first round of the AFC playoffs. However, I remain faithful to the West: the Raiders and their number one-rated rushing offense will beat the Ravens ($300), and Daunte Culpepper will lead the Vikings to a victory ($300). In the Rocky Mountains, the Avalanche over Minnesota ($400), and in the Vermont mountains, I'll wager $300 that Fitzpatrick's Irish luck will lead her to at least three Yale lacrosse players this weekend. Current balance: $5,000.

Guess who's back? The reigning Smack champ, here to show you ladies how it's done. This week, it's all about football (Anna, that's the one played by the guys you like so much to "support"). The Giants will take the Vikings down at the Meadowlands ($1,000). Meanwhile, the Ravens beat the Raiders, ($500). And I don't know about Erin's "Irish Luck," but Dolly's got her own version of lucky going on this weekend ($20). Current Balance: $5,000.
