Pierson

Okay, so Pierson is in the gutter. There's no denying it. But there is hope. This is the first time in five seasons that the first-place team does not have twice as many points as the last place team. Also, in week four of this winter season, Pierson earned 44 points, which is not only the most points any college got this week, it is also the most points any college has gotten in one week so far this winter season. So, dear PIMPs, keep the faith, and for the love of God, keep showing up! When we show up, good things happen—just look at the results of this past week's fierce competitions.

Men's b-ball defeated Silliman when the Sillimanders forfeited. See how key it is to show up? Women's b-ball brought home a couple recent victories, including a one-point cliffhanger against an enormous Saybrook squad, thanks to the all-star juniors Sarah "I'll shoot the trey anyday" Peterson '02 and Kara "Don't mess with Ness" Nesburg '02. Men's v-ball is a force to be reckoned with, as it remains undefeated thanks to the help of such stellar players as Aaron "Don't call me Mad Dog" Krinsky '03 and Garrett "I can spike it without jumping" Wheeler '02.

Hockey is doing well, women's v-ball is holding its own, and sports like inner tube water polo and swimming haven't even started up yet. Pierson's biggest problem is numbers—we need more people to show and we need more points. The two go hand in hand. So Piersonites, get psyched for the rest of the winter season, and please, get in the game!
