Smack Zone

Dolinsky

So we're getting nasty, are we girls? I guess Fitzpatrick can call all her pigskin boy toys to "back" her, and Wiecks can beckon "cute little Teddy" for help. But I'm gonna proudly stand on my own and dominate the Smack balance again this week by supprting my Yale homies. Women's and men's basketball will both trounce Brown ($600 each) and the men's and women's swimming teams will make Fordham beg for mercy ($800 each). Last week: +$1,600. Current Balance: $6,600.

Fitzpatrick

Sorry to disappoint, my friends, but I did not make either the "21" boot list or the booty list last weekend. Let's not get tied up in idle gossip and move on to the betting. I know that I mistakenly chose against the fine state of New Jersey. This time I won't be so hasty to dismiss the land of the Boss and will give a win to the Devils over Atlanta this weekend ($200). Speaking of getting tied up, what do you do with those sweet, innocent ribbons in your hair, Wiecks, after the lights go out? Oh, finally, Jazz over the Suns ($150). Last week: -$300. Current Balance: $4,700.

Wiecks

Fitzpatrick may not have met my quota of lax players last weekend, but she was successful in other "youthful pursuits." It is another weekend, which means another Saturday night at Toad's for both Dolinsky and Fitzpatrick...perhaps Dolinsky will finally have other things to stroke besides her shuttlecocks. Onto real athletics: both men's and women's basketball will sweep Brown on Friday night ($400), and men's hockey will triumph over Holy Cross ($200). Last week: +$500. Current Balance: $5,500.

Laurie Randell, Guest

All these virgin Smack writers waiting for Joey to come by and show 'em the ropes...sorry gals, no Ax, just an ex-sports editor who still knows how to get her schwerve on. I got $500 that says that Dolly's favorite late-night fantasy, Derek Jeter, loses arbitration. The Bulls, who, much like my smack competitors, have a bad habit of ending up on the bottom of the pile, will actually beat the Nets ($600). Last week: +$1,520. Current Balance: $6,520.
