Pierson

Seems as though Pierson has been sneaking up on a few teams this winter season. Go ahead and look at the standings: this is our third straight week not in last place. Who saw it coming? Apparently, we still rule the winter, even if we don't bother showing up when it comes to outdoor sports. So here's my chance to report the recent crampings, care of Pierson College.

A-hoops has been cramping teams all season, starting out with a great 5-0 record thanks largely to the play of K.B. "My first name is initials" Park '01. Unfortunately, we recently lost team leader Chris "I'm taking second semester senior year off, what the hell is wrong with that?" Rhudy '01 and have dropped a few games. Not to worry, though, Tommy "Feed me a Big" Mac '01 should get this team winning again soon with his excellent captaining skills. B- and C-hoops seem to be struggling a bit, but both teams should be able to finish the season around .500.

The women's hoops team features several snuggly broads and, when fielding a full squad, is a powerhouse. Led by Lindsey "I'm a soccer player but I'm playing basketball today" Sable '03 and Brit "I seem to be sick a lot this semester—mono?" Lacy '03, these ladies will be throwing a few more teams off kileter before they hang up their shorts.

Women's volleyball cramped TD on Tues., Jan. 30, managing a 15-1 score in the last game. If TD isn't embarrassed enough by this loss (to a then 2-5 team) to forfeit the season, all we can conclude is that they definitely lack self-esteem problems. Good for them.

Our ice hockey and men's squash teams have title hopes, blah blah blah...bowling this Fri., Feb. 2, show up or don't. Go Pierson!
