Around the Ivies

Men's basketball has been on a roller coaster ride recently— Princeton, Penn, and Harvard played crucial Ivy match-ups, and after the smoke had settled, the Tigers retained their position at the top.

Currently 6-1 in the Ivy league, Princeton topped Penn 67-53 on Tues., Feb. 13, led by Ahmed El-Nokali '02, who scored a career-high 17 points. Penn had also suffered a loss to Harvard on Fri., Feb. 9, which snapped the Quakers' 25-game conference winning streak, the longest in the nation. The Crimson played Princeton the following night and just missed the first Penn-Princeton weekend sweep in 12 years. Princeton's Kyle Wente '02 hit a buzzer-beating shot at the last second, propelling the Tigers past the Crimson. Harvard's Dan Clemente led the Crimson with 19 points, placing him eighth on the all-time scoring list with 1,375 points.
