Jonathan Edwards

The History of Modern JE IMs. The conquerers of JE IMs came from the northwest corner of the courtyard. In their preparations for takeover, they were able to establish a system of IMs similar to what was already in place, but with the strong and determined leadership that the rest of JE was looking for.

One last opponent stood in their way of ruling over all of the borders of 68 High St. Faced with the choice of staring at the ugly walls of Branford or sparkling new JE IM t-shirts, this competitor, Basha Sangui, finally swayed under the promise of success made by the conquerors. With her financial backing, they were able to assume control of the rest of the college.

The first major dynasty was that of Cole Jabaily '02, and her water polo regent Alex Potter '01. Their inner-tubed siege of Berkeley was so relentless (7-0) that when it came to play Stiles in the last game of the season, the feeble 11th college dared only to throw open its gates and ask for mercy. It was in these battles that Jonathan Smith '04 first proved himself to be particularly good at horseback archery and whacking the other team's goalie in the head with the ball.

The second major dynasty was that of Seth Schlessinger '03 and Eric Niloff '03. Their clan of C-hoops warriors wore their original banner color, unbordered green, with pride as held on to the only victory for the dark, dark Tuesday evening.

The final dynasty of the century was that of Joyce Chen '01. Though not victorious, her squad competed fearlessly against the Mongolesque women of Ezra Stiles. Like many squads in the time period, the growing presence of the English department and its pertinent deadlines thinned the ranks considerably, but with their spirit these women were able to fight spectacularly.

The modern state of JE IM's are surely here to stay. (At least until that opium thing sets in...)

(Compiled by a secretary who would have included chapters seven through 11, but I haven't read them yet.)
