Weekend Excursion

This weekend, travel to nearby Wallingford to catch a glimpse of the Tony-winning musical Ragtime. The story is adapted from the best-selling novel of E.L. Doctorow and has traveled across America in its latest national tour, landing most recently at the Oakdale Theatre. The show builds a briskly paced story of a bustling turn-of-the-century America through the lives of three dreamers, an African-American, an immigrant, and a wife stuck in the routine of her place in society, all of whom hold great expectations for better lives during a time when, it seems, anything might happen. —Diana M. Aleman

The show will run through March 25 at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford. For more information, call 265-1501.
