Behind the Numbers

 

Men's Baseball

Although the numbers didn't add up to a lot of victories—the Elis struggled to a 2-5 record during their spring break trip to Florida—the numbers themselves were good.

Yale's batting average: .333
Opponent's batting average: .261

Outfielder Randy Leonard, PC '04, from Pembroke Pines, Fla. must have felt quite at home in the Sunshine state as he compiled an impressive statline and was named Ivy Rookie of the Week.

Batting average: .486 (17-35)
Multi-hit games: 4
Runs: 10
RBIs: 8

 

Women's Lacrosse

The Bulldogs won both Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the week (Miles Whitman, BK '04) and Defensive Player of the Week (Amanda Sisley, BK '03)

Sisley, a goalkeeper, has notched 36 saves and leads the league in goals against average (3.03) and save percentage (.800). Whitman has scored nine goals this season and notched six in the Bulldogs 10-2 romp over Pennsylvania.

 

Men's Lacrosse

Led by Ivy League Player of the Week Brian Hunt, TD '02, the Bulldogs are set for a critical weekend match up with Cornell.

Softball

The Elis are off to a 7-5 start with help from the strong hitting of Leah Kelly, ES '04, the Ivy League Rookie of the Week , who leads the team with her .368 batting average.

Men's Hockey

Yale Captain Ben Stafford, BR '01, capped off his Yale career with Honorable Mention All-ECAC, second team All-Ivy, and Academic All-Ivy and All-ECAC honors. Stafford was also drafted by the United Hockey league New Haven Knights.
