Ezra Stiles

I have written more than 20 of these things in the last three years, but it feels like I'm always saying the same things. Perhaps it's because I have limited brain capacity, so I can only repeat my previous thoughts over and over and over. Perhaps it's because I have limited brain capacity, so I can only repeat my previous  thoughts over and over and over. Or maybe Stiles has been remarkably consistent. We are consistent in both the good and the bad: we always have a lot of spirit, but we never have enough people. But I'm not going to complain about the forfeits we had this week, because I'm not the type to complain. Ever.

But I am the type to beg—especially for girls. I've done it before, I'm doing it now, and I'll continue to do it again next year. Of course, then I'll be begging for everything as I wander the streets of our fine nation, unemployed because the bear market has killed the job market for IM secretaries. But for now, I'll merely beg you to come on out to the games. When Stiles is in the playoffs during reading week, the weather will be beautiful, you will want to be playing ultimate frisbee, soccer, softball, and you'll wish you had come out earlier. So you might as well do it.

As always, I will now digress from the topic of intramurals to something completely different. To quote the man himself, Ezra Stiles: "And being possessed of the precious jewel of religious liberty, a jewel of inestimable worth, let us prize it highly and esteem it too dear to be parted with on any terms lest we be again entangled with that yoke of bondage which our fathers could not, would not, and God grant that we may never, submit to bear." I agree with Ezra. Do you?

(Compiled by a mad, bad, and dangerous to know Stilesian.)
