Quaker hat trick

University of Pennsylvania freshman Rachelle Snyder recently set a university record for most points scored in a single soccer game. The previous record of six points was held by Andrea Callaghan, who did it twice in 1998. In Penn's 6-4 win over University of Delaware, Snyder scored four goals, including the game winner at 79:18. For her four-goal effort, Snyder recorded her first collegiate hat trick and earned Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors.

Bears fall to Fairfield

The Brown men's soccer team, heavy favorites to win the Ivy League, suffered a surprising 0-1 loss to Fairfield on Sun., Sept. 9. The Bears came into the game as the 20th-ranked team in the nation, but never got on track against the upstart Stags. Fairfield scored the lone goal late in the first half. Yale can make the state of Connecticut two-for-two on Sat., Nov. 3, when they face the Bears at home.
