Trumbull

Colleges from all reaches of the globe (and by globe, I mean campus) can hear the sound in the distance. It starts as a soft rumble, then it gradually crescendoes to a tremor, and finally they can be seen in the distance—an immense herd of stampeding Bulls, horns blazing and reared for battle.

The colleges head towards the House of Payne, where sanctuary might a-wait. Pierson stumbles first and is trampled by the Bull. JE and D-port are not too far behind, too busy fiddling with nonsensical manners to even know to get out of the way. Silliman and TD try to avoid Payne, but it's useless as they, too, are tossed aside. Morse and Stiles attempt to run to their colleges but get bottlenecked on the Jock Walk. The horns of '62 run them through. Calhoun stands like a deer in head-lights. Out at the Whale, Branford is cowering in the corner. The cloven feet of the Bull, now wearing skates on the icy sheet of Ingalls, tears them to pieces. Saybrook tries to hold the Tyng in the air to claim victory once again. In a valiant battle, Saybrook perishes and the Tyng lies in the street. The Bull hears jeering from the corner, and turns to see Red.  Bulls hate Red. Especially Berkeley Red. A fit of rage takes over the herd, and when the cloud of smoke is gone, nothing is left but some crushed spirits, a soiled flag with some crosses on it, and a Bishop's hat by the side of the road. The Bulls turn, bend down, and stand up raising Lady Tyng in their arms, to the roars of cheers from the windows above and the people on the streets below.

My friends, the story that you have just read shall transpire once again. In 1962, Bulls from all corners of the universe (and by universe, I mean Elm Street) united under one common flag with one common goal: complete and total IM domina-tion. This is the 40th anniversary of those events, and let us remember our bovine brethren and stand up for what is true—Trumbull superiority.

So far this week Rachel "Chicks can too play soccer" Jeffrey '03, Stephanie "My frosh can kill your frosh" Schmid '02, Bill "You are all very very" Weeks '02, Srikumar "Try and spell it bitch" Kesavan '03, and Matt "From 12 to 1" Benjamin '03 have already led their Bulls on the field. The rest are following, and nothing shall stop us. (Compiled by Jonathan P. Trumbull.)
