Berkeley

As the last tercentennial weekend comes upon us, we should pause and indulge in a bit of historical reflection. The past 50 years have been interesting ones for Yale. The increase in minority enrollment. The introduction of women (yes!). The building of new residential colleges. But most importantly, 50 years ago was the last time that BK held the Tyng Cup.

Table tennis looks to be the dark horse for the season. Vinay "Don't talk" Bachireddy '05 and Alex "To say yes, Russians say" Daberko '05 have embarrassed many a senior with their amazing play. Greg "Pigs give you" Hamm '05 has been cleaning house as well. Kamilla "If it floods, get on an" Arku '05 and Kristen "I'm better than Gary" Thompson '05 give the team the female touch it so desperately needs. Captain Thomas "I'm the Captain!" Leung '03, Sid "Green light means" Govindan '03, Rob "Mandate" Bernheim '02, and Nita "If we lose, I'll be" Madhav '02 round out the group to remind these whippersnappers that the old folks can play too.

On the women's soccer front, the Cross Campus Coalition of Berkeley and Calhoun destroyed the pitiful alliance of Saybrook and Branford by a score of 3-0. Yes, indeed, just because you've been renovated, it doesn't mean that you're a good college. Stellar play from our frosh ladies again with a hat trick by Meghan "She doesn't play like she's" Greenberg '05 as well as great work by Gwendolyn "She's McGood" McDay and Kelly "She's a babbling" Brooks '05.

The season has just begun, my friends. And mark my words, BK IMs will come back to life like it was Easter, baby. Or one of the extras from a George Romero movie. The only thing that I'm more sure of is the fact that Trumbull sucks. Hard.

BK IMs: you're betting on a sure thing.
