Timonthy Dwight

That's right, you heard us. That slight roar in the distance is growing, growing past the sound of voices on the street, growing louder than the characteristic New Haven sirens, growing and drowning out the tercentennial fireworks, growing into the cacophony we call Ashe!

Women's soccer suffered a slight setback this week, but we're still going all the way and got the chance to break in some new lionesses. Shira "I bring good" Tydings '03, Carolyn "Keep it goin" Yrigollen '04, and Emily "Tackle" Kovich '03 played like seasoned veterans, while Tami "Chitty chitty bang" Bang '05, Sarah Ax "me about my last opponent" '05, and Anna "Golfers do it in the grass" Jepson '05 powered the offensive threat. We will get shirts this year, ladies; the four-peat is within reach. Mention must be made of the self-appointed IM cheerleaders Hayden "Peanut" Gallary '02 and Jeohn "31" Favors '05.

Coed volleyball eagerly anticipates the quarterfinals next week. "Virile" Virgil Calejesan '02, Roberto "Is it bigger than a breadbox?" Sabater '02, and Peter "Can I eat it?" DiFrancesca '04 are only getting stronger. Men's soccer has even started scaring away opponents before the game. Apparently word has gotten around about Joshua "1 if by land, 2 if by" Secrest '04, Jeremy "Blue devil" Merkelson '04, and their amazing ability to withstand head injuries.

We'll see you on the fields...

(Compiled by an IM secretary who has nothing but love for swing space.)
