Big Red goes national

On Tues., Nov. 6, the Cornell men's hockey team was ranked 15th nationally in the latest USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll. The Big Red opened its season last weekend by easily defeating Alabama-Huntsville 6-1 and 5-2. Unranked last week, Cornell is the only ECAC team to make the top 15 in this week's poll. Harvard, despite defeating Dartmouth on Sun., Nov. 4, dropped out of the top 15 after starting the season as the 11th- ranked team.

Crimson soccer on top

With an early goal scored three minutes into the game by Ladd Fritz '04, Harvard squeaked by Columbia 1-0 to maintain its lead atop the Ivy League standings. The Crimson improved to 9-3-1 and 4-1 in league play, with Princeton close behind. Harvard outshot Columbia 16-6 and did not even require its goaltender to make a save. Fritz's goal upped his total to six for the season and was the 1oth of his career. Also, Fritz received player of the week honors for the second time this season.
