Trumbull

I went to the cinema to see Harry Potter over break. On my way out of the movie house, A young girl tugged on my scarf (I was proudly wearing my home college's colors as I am wont to do). She said with amazement, "Where did you get this Gryffindor scarf?" I chuckled and explained, but yet I began to think. How much is Trumbull College like Gryffindor House (Harry's abode)?

For now, all you need to know is that Trumbull's climb to the top perch has begun. Rookie sensation Ralph "I could have played hockey but I played football instead" Plumb '05 helped crush Stiles in an emotional 3-2 defeat alongside captain Brad "Regis" Rosenberg '02.

Men's basketball enjoyed a three-way sweep over Pierson as "We will win them all" Marc "it on your" Callender '03 lead A Hoops to victory. Those flying lessons must have helped.

Remember the book and the movie? A house (college) with the colors maroon and gold. The head of the house is female, as are both the residential and academic heads of Trumbull. The students at Gryffindor are known for being brave, gallant, and extraordinary. The Trumbull motto: Fortuna Favet Audaci. Do not forget the end, when the evil Slytherin (a.k.a. Saybrook) thinks they have again recaptured glory for another consecutive year when Dumbledore (a.k.a. reality) reminds them that they suck and that the colors of maroon and gold should be hung around the great hall to signify greatness. (Compiled by Jonathan P. Trumbull).
